The picturesque seaside town of Zingst is chalk-full of popular attractions for all ages.
Explore the town on foot or by bike, on your own or with a local guide. Check out the 19th century architecture of Peter Pauls Church as well the modern design of the Max Hünten Haus – the hub of Zingst‘s world of photography since 2011. Each year numerous excellent concerts are held in the church and the Max Hünten Haus houses a special collection of photography books as well as the public library.
The Museum Zingst represents a successful architectural synthesis between old and new: a modern light-filled annex adjoins the historical captain‘s house in which local maritime history is presented in a creative and modern exhibit. The museum is part of the attractive Museumshof compound that includes „Café Alt-Zingst“ with home-made baked goods, a quaint cottage offering hands-on creative activities („Pommernstube“), and the amber workshop „Strandgut“. For families and children who are curious and eager to explore, the Experimentarium is a great bet. A quick stop at the National Park information office at the Schlösschen Sundische Wiese is the best way to get ready for the natural wonders of East Zingst.
Last but not least, a stroll through Zingst’s photo galleries is always a highlight. Stunning images of nature, documentaries, experimental photography and other genres impress and inspire.
