Traditions, regional history and modern life come together in the Museumshof compound.
The recently restructured museum offers exciting exhibits and guided tours as well as interesting events throughout the season. The museum displays the works of local artists and ship models as well as exhibits concerning ship building, local maritime history and Zingst history.
The dedicated staff actively cooperates on new projects with the Heimatverein and museums in Barth, Stralsund and Ahrenshoop. Throughout the year, festivals, concerts, markets and creative workshops take place in museum compound: Tina Tandler plays jazz and blues, the “Lichterfest“ and „Lauschnacht“ festivals are a favourite among families, and the farmer’s market with music and refreshments attracts folks from far and wide.
Also part of the Museumshof compound are the „Pommernstube“ offering creative workshops, the „Café Alt-Zingst“ with fresh pastries and traditional breads, and the amber workshop „Strandgut“in which your can find delightful amber and beach souvenirs.
The Museumshof truly has something for every member of the family. In the summer, you can also enjoy a refreshing drink in the beer garden, explore the farmer’s garden and discover the colourfully painted doors typical of the Darss peninsula. This very special venue is also available for weddings and other festive occasions.
